Yellow Fever Vaccine

1. Central Research Institute is the only institute engaged in the production of yellow fever vaccine in the south-east Asia region and was one of the few laboratories recognized by WHO for the production of yellow fever vaccine in the world. The production of yellow fever vaccine was initiated in the year 1960. From the year 1993 the institute was producing stabilized yellow fever vaccine as per WHO requirements. Presently, the production of yellow fever vaccine has been stopped due to requirement of cGMP compliant production facilities. Efforts are being made for technology transfer for the production of yellow fever vaccine from WHO pre-qualified manufacturers.
2. The institute is importing and distributing yellow fever vaccine to various authorized yellow fever centers for immunization of international travelers.
